Manolo Paz will showcase ten of his most iconic sculptures in Park Avenue, the heart of New York City, marking a major international milestone for the artist. Building on the success of his previous public space exhibitions in Spain, this presentation, titled ‘The Distance that Unites’, will transform New York’s public spaces into a global stage for his work.
This exhibition is a tribute to Paz’s formative years spent in New York, where he lived and worked, and reflects his deep connection to the city. Featured on Park
Avenue will be one of his most iconic stone sculptures, Cathedrals, crafted from quartzite. The piece symbolically links the natural, timeless beauty of stone with New York’s towering skyscrapers, which have come to be regarded as the modern cathedrals of our era.
In addition to ‘Cathedrals’, the exhibition will include four striking metallic sculptures. Among these is a red version of ‘Transparencies’, a piece that allows the surrounding cityscape to filter through it, creating a stunning visual interplay. Completing the exhibition are three variations of Paz’s NASA series, in white, blue, and red, referencing the colors of the American flag. These intricate sculptures, designed as three-dimensional metal grids, echo the geometric patterns of New York City’s streets and buildings, further reinforcing the deep connection between the artist’s work and the urban landscape.
