Nico Munuera

Nico Munuera’s pictorial practice relates to the tradition of abstraction that pierces through the whole avant-garde and neo-avant-garde.

He understands painting as an autonomous object that speaks through painting itself. What his painting is made of is indistinguishable from what the painting is. His work is close to phenomenological ideas of presence, space, perception and gesture and his practice is influenced by eastern philosophies of art and time.
