The Metaflora series was recently presented in Aitor Ortiz’s solo exhibition Between Archetypes and Artifacts at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid. It is a photographic series that transforms industrial metalworking waste into images of great aesthetic intensity, conceived as a form of contemporary botany. Through the selection, isolation, and photographic treatment of these metal fragments, Ortiz reveals organic forms, symmetries, and archetypal structures that evoke the vegetal world while retaining their industrial origin, establishing a dialogue with the work of Karl Blossfeldt and proposing a reflection on beauty, perception, and photography’s ability to change an image’s context. This piece is presented in an edition of 25 copies, with a special price for the Young Collectors program of €1,500 (VAT included).
