Glenda León receives the MACAM Acquisition Award at ARCO Lisbon 2025
The work 'Every sound is a form of time: visual scores' was acquired by the Museu de Arte Contemporânea Armando Martins (MACAM) in Lisbon at the ARCO Lisbon 2025 Fair.
The founder and collector Armando Martins presented the MACAM Acquisition Award to the work “Every sound is a form of time: visual scores”, from the artist Glenda León represented by the Max Estrella Gallery.
In this series, Glenda León transforms everyday elements—like leaves, stars, or raindrops—into visual scores, proposing a poetic dialogue between sound, image, and silence.
The Cuban-Spanish artist, with an international career, develops a practice that crosses the visual arts, music, literature and philosophy.
During the fair, Armando Martins also participated in a talk dedicated to the challenges of private museums, where he reflected on the course and mission of MACAM.
