‘Concert for the Biocene’ at Lluis Coromina Foundation in Barcelona
The Lluís Coromina Foundation presents ‘Concert for the Biocene’, an exhibition by the renowned conceptual artist Eugenio Ampudia.
The artist devised a concert on June 22, 2021 at the Liceu Theater on the occasion of its reopening once the COVID quarantine in Spain ended. A concert played by a string quartet performing “Crisantemi”, by Giacomo Puccini, with a botanical audience made up of 2,292 plants.
The concept ‘Biocene’, suggested by Blanca de la Torre, curator of the action, replaces the term ‘Anthropocene’, which defines the recent history of deterioration of our planet caused by human actions. The Biocene calls for a new era that finally places life at the center.
This exhibition responds to the Foundation’s desire to support disruptive initiatives that value the importance of preserving natural ecosystems, since we humans are also nature.
