Ana María Caballero performs at Tate Modern
On Saturday 26 September, artist Ana María Caballero presents a performance at Tate Modern in London, on the fifth floor of the Blavatnik Building, in a session organised with The Lumen Prize, the international award for art and technology.
The performance explores what Caballero calls analog generativity: the way readers and writers construct each other. The artist invites the audience to experience how a poem changes as it shifts across forms. She also addresses text-to-image AI from a literary perspective, asking what is at stake when words no longer describe an image but instruct it into being.
Above all, the piece is a reflection on attention: listening long enough for a poem to become something other, a haunting the artist plans to materialise in digital form.
