Inma Femenía

Jul 20 2024 - Jul 13 2025

Inma Femenía opens her latest intervention, Aire Magenta, this Saturday, July 20th, at the IVAM in Valencia, Spain. This is a site-specific installation that takes advantage of the natural light hitting the glass façade of the IVAM's main entrance.

Inma Femenía uses light, space, and matter to transform the viewer’s perception, inviting them to reconsider their visual environment.

In her latest installation, ‘Aire Magenta’, she takes advantage of the natural light hitting the glass façade of the IVAM’s main entrance. This light disperses in all directions through the air, reflecting on the surfaces inside the museum and on the visitors’ bodies. The color magenta, resulting from the combination of the limits of the electromagnetic spectrum, becomes the protagonist, highlighting the presence of light in the space.

The choice of the color magenta is not arbitrary. It comes from a reflection on the perception of color and light, where the artist studies how our eyes perceive color compared to a full-spectrum digital camera. This process of observation and analysis led her to a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between light and color, and how these can influence our perception of the environment.

The instalaltion at the entrance of the IVAM is a continuation of this exploration, where Inma Femenía invites visitors to immerse themselves in a space redefined by light and color.
