An artist of shared references and aesthetics, although fundamentally indebted to the fertile tradition of Spanish painting, Castrortega develops his pictorial work in lyrical abstraction, loaded with symbolic references.
From engraving to drawing and painting, to volume in sculptures and assemblages, his work balances balances volume and two-dimensionality, achieving a great expressive force with the flow of shapes, the contrast between shadows and lights, drawing and color.
